Julie Bouchet-Horwitz is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Lactation Consultant. She received her masters of science in nursing from Columbia University. She has worked with mothers and babies since 1987 as a childbirth educator, labor doula, La Leche League Leader, and Lactation Consultant.
As a Lactation Consultant, Julie has worked in the hospital and in the community. She has experience with newborns, older infants, premature infants, babies with special needs, multiples, and adopted babies. She teaches the breastfeeding class to the Columbia University Family Nurse Practitioner students. She provides office and home visits, and lectures and writes on breastfeeding topics.
